Throughout the year, Second Harvest is part of many events and fundraisers to raise funds and food for our neighbors. Find out more below!
Enjoy a friendly luncheon with soups and other tasty dishes while supporting neighbors facing food insecurity in our area. Ticket sales go toward the Hunger Coalition, consisting of Second Harvest, Open Door Food Kitchen, Catholic Charities, and InterServ.

Each year, letter carriers across the country collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks throughout the United States.
Throughout the year, Second Harvest partners with local grocery stores to Fill the Van full of donated groceries. In October we host a City Wide event where all of our partners band together for a weekend full of giving! Our St. Joseph partners include: Price Chopper, Sam's Club, Hy-Vee, and Brother's Market (also includes the Savannah location).

Each summer, the Regal Hollywood 10 theater offers weekly children's movie showings for those who bring a canned food donation for Second Harvest. Showings begin when summer school ends and run through the last week of break.

During Hunger Action Month businesses are encouraged to join the FIGHT to end hunger. Organizations compete to raise the most food and funds to fill our partner pantries' shelves. We invite the teams to a celebratory breakfast as a thank you in October.
Rally your team for a chance to win the coveted Golden Can award this year!
During Hunger Action Month, restaurants throughout St. Joseph unite to combat hunger, and you can play a part too! Choose a local restaurant (or several!) from the list of participants, and they contribute a portion of the day's proceeds to Second Harvest. The funds raised from your meal will be turned into additional meals for your neighbors. It's a win-win situation!
Second Harvest partners with the City of St. Joseph and Mayors past and present to host the annual Mayors' Thanksgiving Dinner. Join us for a delicious dinner and the presentation of our Outstanding Partner award for the year.

12 Days of Giving Food Drive - December
Get in the spirit of giving by collecting 12 non-perishable food items for your neighbors. Donations can be brought to Second Harvest, or dropped in any donation barrel at Hy-Vee, Green Hills, Price Chopper, Genesis Health Club, or Brother's Market.
