SERVICE INSIGHTS FAQs

What is Service Insights?
Service Insights is an electronic database that allows us to collect data safely and privately to better understand the needs in our communities.
What will I be asked to share?
Basic information about yourself and your household.
How will Service Insights change the way I receive assistance?
The first time you visit us, we will go through a series of questions to set up your profile. With this information, we will be able to match you up with the services that will help you the most.
Will you need this information every time?
After your next visit, we will only need to be notified in case of life updates. After the initial intake, future visits will go much faster.
Who can see my information?
All information will be kept private by Second Harvest Community Food Bank and the agencies you visit. All reporting is anonymous. General statistics will be shared with Feeding America and the USDA, but personal information will be kept confidential.
Is this optional?
This intake is required to receive services although some questions are optional, and some programs allow for anonymous entries. For federal programs like TEFAP, certain questions are required to qualify for services. Most other information and questions are optional, and you will not be denied services if you choose not to answer.
What is this information used for?
Information from Service Insights will help Second Harvest write grants for more food and equipment. A lot of grants ask statistics about who is being served and Service Insights is an easy and secure way for us to access this information. As stated above we do not use individual information, only group data. We will never share your personal information or data.
Giving us your address will also help us see where people are traveling from, so we know where we need to add mobile sites or pantries in the future.
